Reuben Lowe is a mental health therapist working at the Melbourne Clinic for Healthscope. He has a postgraduate in cognitive behavioural therapy and has been working with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) since 2005.

Reuben is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives. His mission is to support and encourage young people to improve their mental health and give them tools to thrive in life.

In 2006 Reuben worked with Mark Webster, a colleague of Professor Steve Hayes, the founder of ACT. Reuben set up the very first ACT for addictions group in the UK. He has been working as an ACT therapist at the Melbourne Clinic since 2010.

Reuben has extensive experience of engaging people through digital platforms. He created the free app, Mindfulness: The Art of Being Human, which has 250,000 downloads. He is a teacher on Insight Timer, the most widely-used mindfulness app in the world, on which he has one of the highest-rated courses for young people.

Reuben brings a contemporary understanding of the digital landscape and how young people engage with the world through technology. This has allowed him to create apps that are well-positioned to engage young people and deliver this essential content.

He presented about the ACT On It app at the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science World Conference in 2015 and 2018. His network of industry associates will allow him to share the app with the worldwide network of the thousands of ACBS psychologists, clinicians and ACT therapists around the world, enabling the app to be used in clinical settings around the world.

Currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Reuben can be contacted here.
